Huntsman said to be in talks to sell Textile Unit to SK Capital.
Do you guys follow (
)? It seems way better than all the spam on the HUN board - The alerts have been great!
BofA Securities Double Downgrades Huntsman to Underperform From Buy, Adjusts Price Target to $34 From $45
Why ? No doubt there will be margin pressure due to rising costs....and even assuming thing slow down around the world.....and let's assume the stock's earnings drop from $4 to $3.25 to $3.50, this double downgrade seems ridiculous given the stock has already dropped 30% and has an almost 3% dividend.... Seems overdone to me.... Unless, this is a scam by the powers that be to drive the price down prior to a takeover so they can buy up shares and shake out a lower buyout price. HUN seems ripe for the picking.
I thought this one was already a good value at $35.
Why is this getting crushed on such low volume? It’s hard finding any news on this stock.
Market Chatter: Huntsman Corp. (HUN), a US chemical company, is in advanced talks to sell its textiles unit to SK Capital Partners, a private equity firm, Bloomberg reported on Tuesday.
The parties involved are negotiating a deal that might value the Singapore-based business at "less than $1 billion," Bloomberg reported, citing people with knowledge of the matter.
Huntsman declined to comment, while SK Capital didn't reply to requests for comment, Bloomberg reported.

Did Starboard sell? Any new purchases of hun in 13fs? Stock is down from from proxy vote. Looks like the buybacks can't raise share price.
No one wants this stock. Must be something wrong with the estimates. They must be way off.
i have liked this Cramer got me in at $3.50
Would be a good time to be executing on their buyback program - would provide some nice support.
But so should a trailing PE of 7 and a forward PE of 8…
Q1 2022 results:
Beat on revenue - $2.40 vs $2.29 million
Beat on earnings - $1.19 vs $1.03
Bought back 5.5 million shares for $210 million in Q1 with another $790 million to go in 2022
Looks like they bought back shares at $38 . If they thought that was a good price maybe they should start buying here and average down.
Looks like management isn't buying back shares, like always they wait for higher prices.
Looks like they paid too much for the shares. If not maybe they should buy here. We could use a higher price.
So, anyone know when the $2B share buy back is supposed to happen? Or, was that all lies? Why aren't they supporting the share price now instead of letting it go into freefall?
HOW SOON CAN THE SLIMY MANAGEMENT TEAM BE REMOVED? HOW DO WE GET NEW BOARD MEMBERS AND FIRE THE CEO?
I don't get today's reaction to the meeting results. Starboard still has its stake in the company and will be monitoring developments. Despite all the "noise" around the proxy battle HUN's fundamentalls are still very strong. Where is all the selling coming from? This isn't a no-earnings tech stock.
