The bad news was that the government extended the eviction ban on firms behind on rent until March 2022. Commercial landlords are not happy and have concerns well-capitalised businesses might refuse to pay rent and abuse the support measure. Hammerson's balance sheet looks strong enough, with the recent sale of 7no shopping centres, and they don't have much debt falling due this year.

The good news is that Hammerson is planning to build the UK's largest electric car charging facility at Brent Cross in London. There is limited space in London and many EV owners in London won't have home charging, so Hammersons are unlocking a limited and valuable resource with this project, and it might be an indication of their future strategy.

This article on Yahoo is a bit incorrect. The reason for the £1.7bn loss is mainly property revaluations, which accounts for £1.6bn of the loss. Property revaluations on P&L started after the change in accounting standards from IAS17 to IFRS16. Property revaluations isn't a cashflow issue and will fluctuate positive and negative from year to year. Rent collections only indirectly affects profit through increase in bad debt provision, but are more of a cashflow item and new leases wouldn't affect previous year's profit.

It is high risk because Hammersons are technically in breach of some covenants due to covid and there is no liquid market for shopping centre sales, but it is also potentially high reward, if they get through this crisis and it isn't followed by another crisis they could return to paying dividends comparable to previous years.

40% up on my initial investment. This baby is only just getting started. The U.K. is still in lockdown and this stock is rising.

There will be a huge pent up demand to get out shopping on the high street again. Yes Amazon etc are the future but people haven’t been out the house in months. This still has room to run.

HMSO . Have great valuable properties. It will take a little time to realise good properties are a solid investment and ordinary retail will definitely shrink but high value retail and hospitality will become very valuable within the next few years . Location , location Location .

There's only one thing I like better than travelling around and "picking" (especially sports cards & Memorabilia)... and that's finding stocks like this randomly searching to throw a couple $Gs at. What a no brainer play this is. Good Luck ALL!!!
