HD fairing much worse than LOW this morning...Was it HD or LOW that had the earnings miss?

HD blows away both earnings and revenue expectations, and then gives a great yearly forward statement. All of that and the stock is now down for the day!! If this doesn't PROVE we are in a SERIOUS Bear market, nothing does!!! I'm holding, but refuse to add to HD until SPY gets down to at least 3500!!!

Doubled up on my HD gift!! Shorties trying what we longs always did… we bought on the dips… they sell on the rises… UNTIL IT STOPS WORKING! In the meantime I just bought more shares of a great company that is doing well in spite of supply chain restraints- that’s one for the present and future!!!

A 10% intraday jump is quite possible based on the earnings report.

People are just impatient with investments, they think you can score overnight. It could take 10-15 years before something takes off. Individual stocks are not for most people and should be only 20% of your portfolio. Stick with managed mutual funds as they work and you have the highest probability of success

So let me get this straight. Prices are inflated, but demand isn't subsiding. This seems to me like a bad sign. This means the economy continues to run hot and more inflation likely.

As an old Merchant I find this so strange, investors have no clue about how retailing works.
What everyone is reacting to is backward looking information, building is just now slowing down.
It is not reflected in these numbers at all. Do you really believe going forward that with dramatic
interest rate rises that the building purchases are going to grow. Everything Home Depot sells will
shrink this year and next. It takes a long time to build a house, sales are pulled forward. Grocery sales
are of the moment but once you start a house you must finish it. Duh!
You would be better off not listening to Cramer bad mouth Walmart and think ahead, they will sell food
and necessities, they will suffer on non essentials.
Personally as an old retailer, I wouldn’t buy any, I put my money in Stagflation safe stocks last year.
    Good Luck

Lots of whispers that HD & Lowes could surprise, to the downside. Tomorrow morning will give us a lot of information on how the consumer is really feeling as HD & WMT are pillars in consumer spending.

    Grab your popcorn.
