Remember they sold off the gold stream to rebuild Brittania and the PM stream at Rosemont. Creative, but not accretive.
  • S
The pps is far too low and BHP is looking for copper acquisitions and talking to IVPAF. But BHP is super bullish on copper saying we need more production.

Anyone see where HBM in running to acquire Spanish copper miner?
  • M
Looks like Sandfire Resources (Austrailia) won the bidding on the Spanish copper company ... MATSA .. is tis correct? If so, wonder what HUDBAY will go after

I don't own HBM. However every time I look at it I can't believe it's a $6 stock. I want to load up on it, but can't understand what I'm missing given the stock market action of the stock. I own CLF which has gone from $6 to $25 while HBM has gone from $4 to $6 in the last year. FCX has gone from $14 to $36. WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH HBM? Can anybody offer any insight into what the problem is ?? I see three recent upgrades and NO MOVEMENT in the stock.

I am in. I was looking for a good copper play and I hope this fits the bill.I see some on here do not like management. hope that they are capable

Metals prices are through the roof, and this loser company still cannot make a profit. What a disaster. There are much better mining stocks out there. Some of them can even make a profit with $4 copper!

    3 upgrades one day
Raymond James , RBC Capital markets
    Gave $13 and $14 targets .
And the Commodity analyst commented he would not be surprised if Freeport acquires Hudbay in next 12- 18 months
Before the Mason copper mine is operational.

It will be (Mason, NV Copper mine )
The 3Rd largest Copper Mine in the USA.

Maybe they know something we don’t .
But I am not buying or holding HBM for any kind of takeover I don’t buy stocks for that purpose.

I am Buying with two hands as HBM (using most recent Quarter X4)
Is trading , basically 1x annual sales.
All while they continue to pour in 2.1BB into Mason mine.
Which they will recoup ALL of over the first 2-3.5 years of operation . Which will go straight to there Marker cap (even at just 1X sales.
    HBM + $2BB
    Is a $15-$16 dollar stock .

    What we do know
  • S
Ontario Pension Find has still not fully agreed to financing the offer.

Big difference is they acquired Mason , the 3rd largest copper mine in the country .

    I guess Raymond James
And RBC capital markets disagree there Price targets are 100% higher

Just last week Goldman Sachs projected copper to go to $5+ by end of year.

Due to record US demand and Squeeze on supply due to labor strikes etc

Mason mine triples their production and boosts their revenue by 500m out of gates .

Not sure how your comments regarding your shares from 8 years ago are relevant

    Any who

    3 Fresh upgrades yesterday
CIBC World markets/Oppenheimer $15 price target

    -Raymond James $14 price target

    RBC Capital Markets $13 target.

3 firms not known to be Aggressive with upside targets

    Yet HUDBAY = 100% Upside .

    Richard ,

You say new management , but these are the guys who acquired Mason resources for a 30m bucks , a mine set to crank out 500m, and be the 3rd largest copper mine in the US.
So not sure about that to be honest .

As far as the guy who said you need $20 copper to turn a profit , the expenditure on Mason alone is over a 100 million , break that down I believe it is .10 cents a share compared to outstanding shares .

And if you Actually read a little , you will see the 500m valuation is based on copper price trading at $3.20 cents .

So people have to make up their mind . Do you want to continue to develop the 3rd largest copper mine in US, or do you want to Show .10 cents a share in earnings? For what , ur not getting a dividend , and in that case , stock trades on X annula sales basis or quick ratio.

Also are you comparing EPS as Non -EBITDA? Are you considering CapX as it relates to growth ?

I may be off a tad here or there a NIp or tuck.

But when I here people here say you need $20 copper prices for a profit .. or Upset they are spending to Complete Mason , when their production will dwarf current
