So cheap in a high growing market. One of the best investment out there

I've owned this stock for a long time. I'm in the house of pain right now. Down -26.%. The stock is severely undervalued. I see a book value >$15. The earnings per share they reported last month was a 372% surprise on the upside. I am an investor and not a trader. This stock is a screaming buy but I am not sure if I should put more money to work here. India ETFs have done far better than Fairfax YTD. I wish I knew why that is.

Let us hope Prem doesn't decide to buy FIH.U at a cheap price and make it a subsidiary of FFH. Perhaps that's why there is such little insider ownership. FIH investors would lose huge.

Prem's flagship FFH doesn't get much attention, let alone a small holdings company focused on India. But this is where you find opportunities. You buy at a bargain price before everybody else discovers it.

Did everybody get one of those buyout letters? I got one this time, but happily for me, it arrived after my investment tipped into green, so I disregarded it. I think it might be time to add more shares. This is going to be Mr. Watsa's swan song, so I'm sure he wants to make it good! Share count is now 112 million, and the earnings are going to start coming in...

Wow! Nice pop today. 8.90+0.85 (+10.56%) - At close: 3:59PM My overnight bid added at 7.94, with an $8limit. Lucky me to have doubled my position last night! Something to do with the SHOP/BlackBerry/Volunteer initiative. Volumes were low, about 25%. Maybe somebody else connected the same dots that I did?

New NR - Latest News from FFH ... they now own more shares in FIH from market purchase of 25% ++ . Hostile or maybe friendly take over bid NR released by FFH for FIH. Time will tell what this looks like .

Book Value is now 20.21 , just check with Office . AND ...a jaw dropping 1.52 / share USD in Q-2 2021 . Very much larger than I would have suspected . Q-3 is suppose to be EVEN LARGER ! This company is connected to FFH ...why dont banks cover it ? Why dont they issue a monthly Div .... it would shoot up to 22.00 USD per share if they did ! 78% of shares are owned by insiders , institutions and 'families' . The float is actually very small .

How can a company possibly trade it 1350 USD.? The net asset value is in excess of $20.50 USD. Quarter after quarter they earn good money this quarter being $.85 USD. The projections are over five dollars USD at the end of the year. There is only approximately 130 million shares outstanding now of which Fairfax financial loans the majority of it. I suggest they will probably buy this company out and folded into Fairfax financial at one point or there will be another public company interested in this company. I understand Blackstone has approached them recently.

incredibly arbitrage opportunity. This stock is like a hedge fund and nav should be equivalent to the book value, so price is going to be very close to book value. The only reason for this lag is because book value is just communicated every quarter. But you can follow their major holdings like IIFL or Quess and try to estimate the book value. You can verify that those stocks have been appreciated considerably since last quarter and I am very confident that book value is going this quarter. but in case he don't, the difference between price and book value is right about 14%. You can take the opportunity just to the grab this 14% with very low risk.

I was looking at investing in india and found this one. I understand people say watsa is the buffet of canada but was looking at his letter to shareholders and it seems he's taking a 20% performance fee over 5%. Thats surely not buffet! I know buffet had that when he was a manager in back in the 50-60s but it seems you would be a long term bag holder. any thoughts?

BX is rumoured to be looking at this company. Their evaluation team is in phase 2 I have heard. I believe there is five stages in their evaluation. Even to get a valuated by Blackstone is a pure privilege. When a company makes this much money and earns this much per share, the big guys are gonna look. It makes Pembina look like a popcorn salesman.
