Walmart and Target both reported significant increases in their transportation costs, and being much higher than anticipated just 3 months ago. Whereas UPS was taking significant increases on their enterprise customers during 2018 thru 2021 to shed unprofitable customers and focus more on higher margin middle market customers, FDX was late to the game and continued to focus on Enterprise customers and growing top line revenue....until last year when they FINALLY signaled they were starting to take large price increases on lower margin customers. No doubt large Enterprise retail customers like Walmart and Target would experience the highest price increases.

all the naysayers don't show up on these days

One year ago today, May 4, FDX was at $304/share.
a
290$ average price target according to Yahoo! Barron’s wrote positive feature article a couple weeks ago & yet keeps falling????
p
Prices have peaked, fuel continues to rise, interest rates up, labor shortages, inflation, service failures galore.
This transportation company is finished!
Who’s going down with this ship???

Why is FED EX missing so many delivery dates lately? They seem in our area not able to deliver anything less than 15 days.

Q: Who is fdx’s largest air freight customer?
A: USPS
From CSCMP: “The US Postal Service is shifting more of its package volume from air transport to less-expensive trains and trucks as part of cost-saving measures.”
More bad news for fdx…

Go to browncafe, read fedex discussions, get a better idea of what’s going on inside.

@fudger Amazon and FDX are both growing at 9%. The difference is that FDX is a 10 PE and Amazon is 46 PE….why would you want to pay such a premium for the same business? (Your claim that Amazon trucks are everywhere doesnt line up with my experience either or their growth). I actually like Amazon and have owned for many years….but still a pricey stock.

Friend of mine worked at FedEx. He quit because pay was average and they worked you really hard as a driver. He's back in construction making more $$$.

Recession is here....Thanks Joe!

From Memphis Journal
One big task FedEx faces is improving the margins of FedEx Ground, a major subsidiary. While the business has continued to grow revenue, it’s struggled to increase profit levels. The labor shortage has cost FedEx Ground hundreds of millions of dollars, and in Q3, its operating margins ticked down from 8.8% to 7.3%, year-over-year. Meanwhile, rival UPS’ U.S. Domestic Package segment — its segment most like FedEx Ground — reported operating margins of 11.9% in its most recently completed quarter, according to its latest earnings report.
Understaffed also but Fed is not going to tell you that.

Is this a dying business? Stock is on a collapse mode!

just saw Fedex commercial on CBS UEFA Champion League what a waste of money, should use for stock buy back
Y
FedEx reached a 52 Week low at 194.18
B
All transportation stocks like $UPS and all the railroads are down. It's like some big fund had a margin call or selling off after the quarter to rotate somewhere else.

They make so many excuses for their failures and competition. $120 may be base or support.
