    UPDATE 1-India among potential partners for Embraer turboprop

    Brazil's Embraer is in talks with potential partners in India and elsewhere over proposals for a new turboprop aircraft, which it could launch in the middle of 2023, the planemaker's commercial chief said on Tuesday. Embraer is also in detailed talks with engine makers about the proposed new regional airplane, which would seek to penetrate a market dominated by Franco-Italian ATR , Embraer Commercial Aviation Chief Executive Arjan Meijer told Reuters at the Airline Economics conference. Embraer has been discussing returning to the turboprop sector since 2017 as it looks to expand its portfolio.

    Zanite shareholders approve merger with Embraer's Eve

    Shareholders of SPAC Zanite Acquisition Corp approved the company's merger with planemaker Embraer's electric aircraft subsidiary Eve, the Brazilian company said on Friday, setting the date for Eve's stock exchange debut for May 10. Eve said in December it had agreed to combine with Zanite SPAC and then list its shares on the New York Stock Exchange. "Such approval is an important step towards the closing of the business combination," Embraer said in a securities filing, adding that it expects that the closing date to occur on May 9.

    Eve UAM, LLC, an Embraer company and  a leader in the development of next-generation Urban Air Mobility solutions, announced in December that it plans to list on the NYSE through a merger with Zanite Acquisition Corp. (Nasdaq: ZNTE, ZNTEU, ZNTEW).
