Sell off has abandoned all fundamentals. $OVV $FANG $DVN $EOG $CHK $AR $CPE $LPI are trading at prices as if long term oil and gas prices are below 60$ oil and 2.5$ gas. The divi and share buybacks will be enormous relative to current prices ......

At this point you got to invest for the coming increasing shareholder yield. The market is just trading on sentiment which while unsettling is divorced from fundamentals where the oil and gas names are concerned.
    $CHK $AR $LPI $CPE $ESTE $OVV $FANG $EOG $DVN $PDCE All of these names currently trading as if long term oil and gas will be 60$ and 3$ respectively ......

Let’s get ready to rumble. Shorts are going to get crushed in the energy sector. Demand for oil is now beating prior Covid demand. How many of your friends have been on a trip by plane in the past 30 days? Have we ever seen such incompetence by governments to turn green? The answer is it’s impossible for another 100 years and even that might be a long shot. Stay long and strong! Black golds going to be making us a lot of money.

Why own this when XOM and CVX have lower P/E ratios and higher cash dividends ?
For the nostalgia thrill of owning a piece of Enron Oil & Gas history ?

Let’s make some money, buy gas; buy oil. Put on your horse blinders, lets not give up on the American dream of making money in the stock market despite what the government does. Stand strong don’t bend over.

Well, Mr Market socked it to the oil stocks and crude actually fell a bit too. Gasoline futures down nicely, and it looks like prices at the pump will drop below $5 for regular. (California need not apply!)

So where do we sit? At $95 crude EOG pulled in $4.00 profit last quarter and declare $2.55 in divis. Thats a rate of $10.00 plus over the course of 4 quarters or about 9% at the current price. Sounds too good to be true so something has to give. Either oil continues to drop or the share price is in the bargain basement bin.

For those who bought into the initial fall for the divi, this time that did not work out too well. ( Me included in that group). Will interesting to see if crude can hold here. Can always spot a top when the forcasts become a bit over the top. The question is will sub $5 gasoline quiet all of the misc. ramblings going on, and will Mr consumer feel a bit relieved at least from a psycological standpoint?

Rig counts suggest greater more output down the road. Calls to ban exports are ludicrous after we asked Europe to curtail purchasing Russian Energy and would put our country in the company of numerous countries who fail to walk the talk. After all if we think that we are paying outragious amounts for energy, one might only look at the prices found in Europe.

Enough said and next week should be interesting.

You would think oil was down 10-20/bbl
Good thing China still locked down or we would be at 120
    Good grief!

Which is more profitable at the moment? Drilling oil @ $120 or Gas @ $9. For quite a long time all E&P's opted for oil and rightly so. But while oil has rallied hard, gas has gone crazy. IF these prices hold, I think the economics make gas more attractive but curious what others think. For this reason, I am very pleased with EOG's decision to step up activity in Dorado. While still slow compared to oil activities it seems the decision here is a bit of an about face for them? While I don't know how long these prevailing prices will last for either, my instinct, on a world wide basis, is that supply/demand equation is stronger for gas if Russia content is suppressed for the long term.
Related, while EOG is stepping up gas production, they are not alone. Apache APA is returning to Alpine High, predominately a gas play essentially abandoned and left for dead a couple years ago.

I know EOG trades on the price of oil but they sell a lot of NAT gas and the price of NAT gas is up a lot and going higher for years to come. If you listen to the con call they mentioned that Dorado has 21 trillion cubic feet of reserves... can you say $$$

The energy supercycle has just begun....$100+ oil here to stay..... and that means $14-$16 a year earnings at $95 oil.... EOG stated they will return 60% to shareholders = $8-$10+ a year in dividends/special dividends.... Forward PE=8...this has a lot of room to grow this year.....plus the LNG profit kicker.... what's not to love?
