Mexican bottler Arca boosts investments to $1 billion in 2024

Mexican bottler Arca Continental said on Thursday that it plans to hike its investments by 32% year-over-year to 17 billion pesos ($1.02 billion), looking to solidify its operations across markets. Arca, Latin America's second-largest Coca-Cola bottler, will spend just over half of those funds in Mexico, its largest market.

Mexican drinks seller Arca profits rise on 'surprise' sales volumes

Mexican bottler Arca Continental said on Thursday its third-quarter net profit rose 7% as it sold more water and soft drinks than expected in its home market and widened its U.S. profit margin. The net profit of 4.54 billion Mexican pesos ($260 million) was slightly below the 4.62 billion pesos analysts polled by LSEG had estimated, but Arca's higher core margins exceeded J.P. Morgan's expectations. "The highlight of this quarter is once again the strong performance of the U.S. operations," J.P. Morgan analysts said in a note.

UPDATE 1-Mexican bottler Arca corks 11% profit growth, sees raw material costs easing

Mexican bottler Arca Continental on Friday posted a second quarter net profit that was up 11% as the company shifted more volumes across Latin America and benefited from a strategy of price hikes it has used to offset raw material costs. Costs of raw materials, particularly for aluminum and PET plastic, should ease in the second half of this year, executives said in an earnings call, adding Arca's pricing in the United States "is obviously going to be more moderate." Arca, which sells water and soft drinks, makes the bulk of its sales in Mexico and the United States, though it also operates across Peru, Ecuador, and Argentina.
