Ok traders, were your knees knocking some this morning? Seeing the big drop in JP Morgan and citi, thinking a pullback may be here. Love the cdn banks. When a sector is in favor, ride it till a catalyst or a rotation occurs. We are in the last few innings of the cycle and financials are where you want to be till the next cycle starts. Most stocks have had 70-100+% runs since January 2020 before the crash. Banks didn’t see that huge jump….. yet. RY was 110 us in January 2020 it’s 147 today with a p/e of 13. Lots of room to run. With interest rates rising, spreads steepening, people renewing mortgages to lock in rates, credit card debt is climbing again as the free stimulus money has dried up and the banks flush with cash for dividends, share buybacks and or acquisitions, banks are where you want to be. Sit back and enjoy the ride. My choices are CM or RY as RY is biggest and has most cash and CM is mostly cdn based and cdns will eat cat food or starve before they miss a mortgage payment.

Who would have thought that CIBC would be the hottest stock of the new year. I was hoping to get 13% over the whole year not in the first two weeks.

    Can’t get to 180 until
After earning. This will get to 165 just before earning, after earning if it’s good will run up to 175-180 I predict. If they announce a split, that’s another ball game.

Hedge funds are selling tech and are pilling into financial, it’s looks like CM benefiting from the rotation. Happy for all the longs and dividend
Investors. One of the best dividend payer in the game.

When interest rate goes up, this bank will make a ton of money and the dividend will be the sweetest in the game. I will be wishing I was there with all the longs.

Draw a 1995 trendline, first support 150, second level support 135, drop below wont see possible only if there is another market crash of 2020. Otherwise, we wont see 124 level for near future

The run up the last 3-4 weeks is insane +$24. Either something is up or they are benefiting from buying shares back with a much smaller float then the rest of the banks. Its not sustainable and the correction will come before or on earnings release. Great time to lock in profits this coming week.

CM price action is getting scary, don’t know if it will run more or pull back. I am taking some off the top at this price before the pull back. Good luck .

Man CM is only red stock on NYSE today. I see they adjusted the close price to dividend too. And it’s still in the red. What did investors see today?

Anyone using cibc investors edge. Double check your last week transactions if you got paid correctly. They charged me usd and when i sold in usd i got paid in cad. For example 2.00 usd purchase and sold at 2.40 usd would be credited as if sold at 2.40 cad, so instead of profit you get loss.
