Can someone explain to me the accountant how this company deserves a PE of 34? I worked for CP for 16 years 90/20 in NA and abroad. It was a great company then except for a few destructive managers on the pet side. Then they gutted their Subs. People first huh? It’s all about ego and money Nothing else matters. Anyway back to 34 PE? Usually their growth cones from spi’s. When the talk about organic growth is it in volume terms or $? Even the growth that they are achieving DN=34 PE. So maybe their stat earnings are bogged down by Restructuring # 42 costs. Same old game playing for 25yrs.

I don't think that CL has another 10% in gains in it. Looks pretty bad here. I actually found (http://Achieverspot.tech) the other day and their stocks are way better...

It's SAD to see at Colgate Piscataway we did not cerebrate the Annual Summer Family/BBQ this year. We are back into the office and from what I see...Many are STILL WFH. With the Company Store remove from Colgate Sites and 25yr Club gone, this Family Company (Yah Right) can care Less about the employees.

Please take a look at ticker ILUS as well = ILUS International: EVs, Dronesm UAVs, Urban Mining and patented firefighting and safety technology. ILUS is uplisting in 2022. They have increased their year over year revenue by 588 percent, and their quarterly revenue by 553 percent. They have been profitable every quarter since inception. Please see Yahoo Finance for more details and news, ILUS is worth a look.

Today we are having ITLT meeting (few of the Lab workers sneak in) at Piscataway as this meeting focuses on the state of the company and where the company is going. Beat your Chest propaganda at its best. I as hinted of an Officer of CP will be leaving in a few months. Why ?? This person is not following a new IT direction from a Board member. Stay Tune Lemmings!!!!

I was expecting CL to hit $80 today based on the ex dividend date but I assume most people would rather park their money in 3 months T Bills at the same rate to avoid the risk

The recent dip in share price has taken this to a price where it's about $10 less than a double over the prior 10 years. The strength and consistency in their profitability metrics tell me they're still a great company, but I think it may be time to shake things up a bit (acquisition, new product lines, anything really). I don't currently own shares, but may start a position around $59 if/when it gets there.

"Market Watch" Colgate-Palmolive Co. CL, +0.03% said Friday it had net income of $578 million, or 67 cents a share, in the third quarter, up from $523 million, or 60 cents a share, in the year-earlier period. Excluding a 4 cents charge relating to a cost-cutting program, the company's EPS came to 71 cents, a penny ahead of the 70 cents FactSet consensus. Sales rose 2% to $3.928 billion, just below the FactSet consensus of $3.946 billion. Chief Executive Noel Wallace said the company is focused on growth and will continue to innovate in its core businesses, pursue adjacent categories and expand into new markets. The company retained its leading share of the global toothpaste market at 41.2% in the year to date, he said. Colgate is still expecting full-year sales to be flat to up in the low single digits, and expects EPS of be down in low single digits.

Price up more than 1.25% but volume is low - nobody selling? CL has been a VERY good investment for me over the past 30 years.

How do we interpret this repetitive comment in today’s almost non-existent inflation environment?
-“Adjusted gross profit margin of 59% declined 20 basis points (bps) from the prior-year quarter, driven by escalated raw and packaging material expenses, including foreign-currency transaction costs.”

And hw is this the result of the years of restructuring?
-“Operating margin was mainly impacted by a decline in gross margin and 30-bps rise in adjusted selling, general & administrative expenses, as a percentage of sales.”
