Looks like the stock is gaining some momentum and back in the green.

On the earnings call they said they plan to keep the dividend around 6%, so either a dividend cut is coming or their stock price needs to come up. My bet is on the former.

Since 2018 Corus paid 944 million dollars in dividends and to reduce its debt. Corus acquired Shaw Media for $2.65 billion in 2016. The debt is now down to $1.3 billion and less shares floating around. When the doom and gloom cycle ends Corus will have three levers in its favour: less debt, less shares as they continue their buybacks and more cash flows as the economy and consumers morale improve. Within less than 5 years the company could be debt free with 50% less shares floating around. Imagine the possibilities.

Just remember that there is a difference between a real loss and a paper loss. To make your loss real you have to place a sell order and wait for it to be filled. Otherwise the loss is just on paper meaning that if you were in a hurry to sell and needed the money right now right here you would have to sell at a big discount to a low baller. If you don’t need the money like right now and are willing to wait for better days your patience will be rewarded. Think in years not in one quarter or two. Long term gain is for those who can take the short term pain.

Remember when we used to invest to actually MAKE money?
Does Corus have a buyback program in effect? If so, I would happily forego dividends to have them get involved in buying at this ridiculously low level and giving some stability to our holding

They keep peddling such a high target of over $6 to $7 for this stock. I bought in months ago, maybe even a year now and nothing but decline. Yet, TD keeps pushing and pushing this stock. I’m holding long but in hindsight I should have gotten out with a loss.
