The dollar is again strong today. Financial analysts are saying the euro could be very weak in the coming months.

A report was announced that due to heavy rains recently in B.C., mineral shipments from the MM mine have been suspended due to landslides and erosion of railroad track grades.

I was introduced to Centerra as a long time Thompson Creek shareholder and now with Molybdenum pricing sustaining above $20/lb. for six months or so I thought I'd pose a question to management regarding strategy going forward regarding their Molybdenum operations, i.e., Thompson Creek, Endaka and Langeloth. I thought I'd share with the board a very timely response,
"Yes you are correct that the moly price is holding up in around the $20/lb mark. We are currently updating the mine plans/technical reports and reviewing and updating the start up plans for our two primary Molybdenum operations. Our Projects and Technical Services team is evaluating both mines to see what is needed in light of the current market price trend. Our Molybdenum Business Unit though is not a core business to us, so Centerra most likely won’t be restarting the mines ourselves. We will look to daylight shareholder value in some other way, ranging from bringing in a partner or even potentially selling the whole business unit."

With that said, with the yuuuge dilution of the dollar, Gold can only go up. GLTA. MRC

I wouldn't touch this #$%$ I wrote to investor relations and asked if they cancelled Kyrgyzstan's shares and didn't get the courtesy of a reply.

It was announced yesterday that Newcrest Mining will be buying Pretium Gold for $2.8B. Wonder if CG will be next? Lol.

The dollar index was a very strong today. It was above 96 on the DXY. Dan Nathan, a panelist on the CNBC TV show, Fast Money, said tonight that he thinks the dollar index could hit 100. Hmmm. That certainly is not good for gold and the gold miners. The demise of the dollar is greatly exaggerated.

Analysts at CIBC in a recent report said that gold clearly has momentum and has more to run; but they prefer gold miners instead.

Holy Toledo. What in world is gold doing today? Just an hour ago, it was lower by $3.00. Now it's up by more than $25.00. It must be some hankey-pankey. Lol.

Decided to sell my position today. Too much risk (for me personally) not knowing what's going to happen with the kumtor loss.

    Skippy,

    See post below.

It's time for Centerra to dump the legacy TC moly assets, since prices are ripe and they've shown little inclination to running them.

Between the two mines (TC & Endako, and the LMC roaster) bet they can get $500mm.

Moly oxide is north of $18 lb. and ferro-moly is north of $21 lb.

These prices won't last forever, since new by-product is coming online in Chile and Peru in next two-three years (Quellaveco, QB2, Spence), that will offset shortfalls at Rio's Bingham Canyon being presently experienced now.

Scotty needs to pull the trigger on the deal, and sell it to the m*xic*ns (SCCO) who are fevered about growing their moly operations since they complete 24/7 for big d*x bragging rights with FCX on pretty much everything.

Arizona vs. Mexico thing I guess.......

Hi Private. I know you were looking for vindication today. You were hoping for panic selling in CG stock today; but it was not to be. Even though CG was weak in the morning, very few seemed to care. Volume was light. Then when gold rallied around high noon,, CG charged higher by almost 4%. Well Private maybe better luck next time. Lol.

Why is Centerra so cheap? Serious question from a GDX and GLD holder.
Do the mines have short lives or is there a liability problem etc.

Skippy, Apropos of nothing, did you know Poland did not exist from 1795 until 1918. It was partitioned among 3 countries. I learned that during the Cold War when the FBI came to my house to find out why I placed the birth of my mother in Poland when her birth certificate said Russia. (I was a security clearance application.) They knew of course, but I guess they were just checking me out.
