The recent meme stock moment might be thought of as an indication that exuberance has once again gone too far. But this time, a closer look at seven key meme stocks shows that it might be a perfectly good sign for the market.
Beyond Meat reported higher-than-expected revenue in the first quarter despite lower demand for its plant-based meats in the U.S. and abroad. The El Segundo, California-based company said its revenue fell 18% to $75.6 million in the January-March period. U.S. retail and food service sales were both down 16%.
Plant-based protein company Beyond Meat (NASDAQGS:BYND) reported results in line with analysts' expectations in Q1 CY2024, with revenue down 18% year on year to $75.6 million. The company's outlook for the full year was also close to analysts' estimates with revenue guided to $330 million at the midpoint. It made a non-GAAP loss of $0.72 per share, improving from its loss of $0.91 per share in the same quarter last year.
