    Crescent Point Energy Corp.
Blackstone Inc. co-founder Stephen Schwarzman said the world is facing energy shortages so severe they could cause social unrest.

His comments were echoed by Larry Fink, who said there’s a high probability of oil soon reaching $100 a barrel, especially with many governments and investors pushing back against investments in fossil fuels.

“Inflation, we are in a new regime,” said Fink, chairman of BlackRock Inc, the world’s biggest asset manager.

“There are many structural reasons for that. Short term policy related to environmentalism, in terms of restricting supply of hydrocarbons, has created energy inflation and we are going to be living with that for some time.”

Several analysts have said that European countries could halt gas exports to neighbors if winter’s colder than normal and prices keep rising.

bp believes it will be producing oil & gas in 2050.

Gordon Birrell, the company’s executive vice president of production and operations, acknowledged that future hydrocarbon production will need to go hand in hand with measures to offset emissions.

We believe in 2050 we, and most of the other oil and gas companies in the world, will still be producing oil and gas. But, it will need to be offset through carbon capture and storage and other economic methods.

Rosneft is worth about 100 billion and they own over 20%...SUM OF THE PARTS...the largest stakeholders will unlock value here....their pe projections after earnings could be 5....when it should be 12-15...funds need % gains at at 30 ...not too hard to get 40% or more when their pe is this low...

If you look at the trading condtions report you can see at these levels that they are earning amortized about 4 billion more per year over the last quarter...bottom line analysts had eps for the pegged at close to 3.5 before the current quarter results...if levels stay close to this their eps for the year could be close to 5$...putting their pe below 5...look at their peers and you can easily see that most are 12-15 ..in basica terms this should be trading much much higher...the largest stakeholders know this and they will take the actions needed to make sure that their interests are served and in turn ours ...their 20% interest in rosneft alone has gone up billions.......possible outcomes ...raised dividend....spin of divisions..ie alternatives...the sum of the parts here is insane ....with all their alternative intiatiatives and the market values of them alone this company could be worth 50-60 as the sum of the parts...look at itty bitty plug power worth 22 billlion on less than a billion in sales

If you look at total returns you see the dividend only companies lag the market. Companies doing with large buyback programs have a 2% higher return than those without. Each share removed is a share they don't have to pay a dividend and that really helps the bottom line over time and means a higher stock price and dividends in the future.

My guess is bp should be able to reload its
buyback plan on 11/2/21 with at least $1.75 billion
assuming bp follows its own guidance.

I would think the earnings report would be solid. Is it likely they would raise the dividend?

    $RECAF conversation
Can some of you oil guys go evaluate RECAF and tell me what you think of it in the low $4s?

It hyped up huge on estimates of possible 32 to 130 Billion Barrels in Africa but then pulled back hard from $11 when the results of their first 2 wells merely showed oil shows and a "working petro system" but no Eureka oil find. Now they've just finished a Seismic survey to tie in with the 2 stratographic wells for choosing a better spot and drilling their 3rd well in January '22. What's the chances that oil is there and they simply need to better pinpoint the oil traps which should happen when they use the seismic data? They have funding and plans to do 4 more wells in '22 so they have 4 more shots before they would probably need to a funding round. If you have GEO experience analyzing well bore data then please go read their core analysis of their first well.
