bns put 496 million towards there credit loss provision while the bigger banks only put around 100million this quarter so earning could have been higher if they ddint put so much

I imagine earnings this Q will be good but wonder about developments in Peru and Chile negative relative to other banks...

All bank earnings are exceeding analysts estimates. All eps beats. Should be a strong few days as that reflection takes place. I’m holding BMO, TD and BNS.

Australia's banks are making a big comeback. IAF has several in its portfolio and the closed end fund pays a decent dividend.

All Canadian Banks are sitting on tons of cash from PCL’s which didn’t transpire. That means big buybacks and dividend increases on the way ( once approved by regulators ) in saying that all banks CET1 ratios are well above the min level. Big 5 banks are 12.5-14 range. This will not get cheaper to buy later this year. Plus net interest margins improving which is great for banks. Add if you can.

Only going up from here. Get in Tomorrow. Long weekend in Canada. Market closed Monday on TSX. Expecting a run up leading off with BMO on 27th and RY and TD on 28th. Expecting good things. Banks trade as a group. ETF etc... BNS is lagging it’s peers for no reason. Really worries about Latin America. Huge market. But just concentrate on Canada. Massive housing boom good for banks. Basically no credit defaults due to stimulus thank you and piles of cash waiting for go ahead for share buybacks and dividend increases which the banks have all declared as first order of business once government gives the ok. We are entering the best environment for banks in 15 years. Collect the dividend while good things happen. BNS should pop before earnings my thinking. Last Qtr TD reported last and great numbers but the stock price went up for all banks during the early part of week. Now BNS last to report. Get in before the run up. In my opinion easy money

Ya this stock goes slow but it seems to climb eventually. I bought back in late January at $69 and its close to $82. Not bad.

Is this stock ever going to have movement like CIBC? It just seems to drift and float but not go up
