    GNOME ON THE RANGE
I have been picking up shares of Black Hills Corporation and several other utility companies on the dips for the last few months. I noticed a recent news brief (Schwab 12/15) that Scotiabank issued an upgrade to sector outperform from sector perform; price target unchanged at $77. I always enjoy reading the history of my utility (ARTNA, OTTR, MSEX, UTL and YORW) holdings and thought the history section (14 chapters/295 pages) on their webpage captured the amazing spirit and history of the BKH. I spent a couple day perusing the book and thought the authors knocked it out of the park, it was such a terrific well done read…. WOW! If you get a chance, check out “Expanding the Energy Horizon” A History of Black Hills Corporation Since 1883. Good luck & great investing!

Why the big discount today? Added a little, can't find pertinent news.

I own a lot of stocks in a lot of different sectors but BKH is one of my favorites. It's not the most well known or in a "hot" sector but I love its consistency and that it does indeed fly under the radar. I can keep close tabs cause I pay my bill to them and live in one of the areas they are expanding E Colorado and can see their growth with each home that is built... Going to own this one for a long time. $70 is imminent it's just a matter of days/weeks now.

Eclipsed the old high set in November (not 52-week high but recent high). Bodes well for further gains, could break upwards to the $70 level relatively quickly before a breather? That's my $0.02 on the chart. GL.

BKH service areas are being highly impacted by the arctic air mass encompassing much of the Country currently. My bill in CO will be higher than normal I imagine using more nat gas... Added to my position, surprised SP is sub $61 as I type. Good long term hold IMO.

SHEP. HERE....................... Nice recovery late in the date yesterday. I bought mid day and actually made money because it came back nicely. It still closed down .25. It goes ex in 2 days so I wanted the dividend. It will be a long time hold.

Both technical and fundamental are looking good. Long over 63.09 for a run up to 73.69.

I’ve been buying a few shares of several of my favorite utility stocks (BKH, ALE, NWE & YORW…etc.) the last few days. Many have now dropped near or below the middle of their 52-week trading range. The Dow Utility Index bumped down over 80 points (spooked by possible interest rate hikes?) the last month but I see this as a good time to buy some utility plays.

Hopefully moderate or cool heads will prevail in Washington and the $1 trillion package will pass and the $3 trillion social and climate package will be addressed sometime (separately) in the future. Both bills should add a spark or kilowatt to the sector as utility companies invest in clean energy construction such as renewable energy, electric grid upgrades, and electric vehicle infrastructure. Good luck & great investing!

Ok, I have an idea!!! This is a terrible forum to share it as nobody is here so thats why I will... Why not allow BKH shareholders access to a monthly div policy if you use it to pay your bill? Would that not create a stable shareholder base? Or offer shareholders a discounted price since in theory we own part of the company anyway? I dunno, that's above my pay grade... But, I'd sign up and the generation behind me would probably eat it up (I'm an X'er BTW 77, you don't win anything because you need 3 7's... inside joke, sorry)?. Bored.

This one has been a "stinker" as of late... Suppose add a few shares if you got the spare change. I don't Xmas is coming up and kiddo thinks she deserves something, lol. Its tight right now but people gotta pay utilities right. I dont own enough shares for BKH to pay my bill but one day I hope to. GL Longs.
