@Joe. Talking about acquisitions, $BHP looking at $NTR the potash fertilizer company? Have they tried this before? Nutrien lost their CEO recently

Analysts target $59 so they are not hopeful or can see the upside. If they don’t we are looking at hype at this price

#BHP taking 8.9% of Tanzanian nickel mine, with option to increase to 17.8%. Nickel prices hitting monthly highs and inventory is low. Only 5% of Nickel used for E.V. batteries (most used for stainless steel). Nickel use for batteries expected to rise to 35% by end of decade. Shanghai price today: $24,300 ton. London: $20,900 ton.

Where does the talk of a 9% yield come from? Yahoo historical data shows around $2.40 per share the last few years, which is only about 4%. Is that information incorrect?

Wow what a great day it was. I've got a good portion of my IRA in BHP and PBR, high dividend and low PE purchases, and both killed it today. $$$ Glad to see natural resources making a big leap here, no doubt with patience there will be more to come!

Look for article: "The World's largest nickel mining companies" Dec 26th. #BHP comes in 4th, #VALE is #2. gl

BHP partnering with CNC - I could totally see that. Mark just announced that a partnership deal is delayed into Q1-2022. That coincided with BHP pulling out of the Noront bid. You wonder. And BHP moved their North American HQ to Toronto earlier this year as Canada emerges as a new clean-tech mining hotspot.
It's clear they want to expand their engagement in new Ni sourcess.

Greg may be losing his ace, but I'm sitting pretty. Saw BHP getting rocked unfairly due to the Evergrande deal and decided to enter when it was cheap. BHP has been good to me ever since.

So #BBL shareholders will become #BHP shareholders and later this year will get Woodside petroleum shares after #BHP merging their petroleum business with #WOPEY. Keep the #WOPEY shares. They got a great deal from #BHP.

I like this company and I hope to own it again in the near future. However; I don't think this rally will last. Iron ore has rallied from lows of $89 up to $114 recently. China is in a real estate collapse. They are the number 1 buyer of Iron ore. The infrastructure bill is only 1/3 infrastructure and 2/3 pork (as usual). Iron ore forecasts for next year is the mid $80's. The stock market is extremely fragile right now. A 15% correction could cause a chain reaction in margin calls which will cause another 15% - 30% drop in the market. This company is NOT going to pay 12% annual dividend yields when Iron ore price has been cut in half. The BBB bill is currently DOA..... probably never to pass. That money would have propped up the market for at least another year or so. My gut says $60 is time to get out, and $48 is the floor in the next 3 to 6 months. I hope I am wrong. Good luck to all.
