P/E ratio of this company is extremely low even compared to other tobacco companies. Why is this stock getting no love? I'm thinking of getting in
Looks like another market overreaction to earnings, similar to ULVR & GSK
/ Only negative - drop in cigarette sales, however increased price & new product sales have slightly offset
/ Great payout ratio ~65% of diluted EPS, div seems secure for next few years as minimum. Cannot complain with c8% div PA & div increase for 2021
Read on mj moment news that this company is considering selling mj. Bought 100 shares today.
Will this company enter the MJ industry once it’s legalized in United States? How will tobacco compete against canopy growth? Big tobacco already has the distribution and scale. Tobacco is waiting without needing to take the risks that canopy and other tobacco companies are taking.
Does anybody smoke anymore?
Bought some shares today.
Beat on earnings and revenue. Div increase and this thing is down. What a farce
I live in the USA, how are these dividends taxed here?
The interest rate s very low so I put cash on bti, pm, mo and bag me close to 11 k quarterly. Investor here on the original mo since 1998 and it helped me breathed the air of financial independence.
The traditional cig. products is what supports the dividend and the company said it was slowing down likely at least 3 percent next year. Not good for long term investors interested in the divi.
This is why price is tanking, from earnings call:
"However, the company said the Covid-19 pandemic had hit performance, with an estimated 2.5% headwind to revenue in 2020. The World Health Organization and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have warned that smoking increases the risk when it comes to fighting off Covid-1"
BTI is a bond proxy. A cash cow that just keeps on giving with a great dividend that is well protected.
I just take my cash and redeploy .
What’s this company’s dividend policy? What’s so good about it and why should I invest? (I’m researching further but I value the opinions on these boards)
Insider trading suggest positives coming from this company I see this back above 45 with a year
This is one of the best businesses in the world. It is very undervalued. Worth 60 a share minimum
Bought some today !!
any one know why I havent received dividends yet ?
Dividend payment Monday
“Investing in unethical stocks” are you kidding me,there is nothing more corrupt than the stock market itself and they have the nerve to write an article on unethical stocks, give me a fn break
Smoking is here to stay, population growth and pricing power will offset the decline in smoking in America.
