Lockheed's (LMT) business segment Aeronautics is going to deliver 16 F-35 jets to the U.S. Air Force and Marine Corps.
Aerospace and defence firm BAE Systems has proved to be a relatively robust performer during the pandemic. Its sales and operating profit increased by 5pc and 2pc respectively in 2020 while many of its rivals experienced a sudden and large-scale decline in financial performance.
British defence company BAE Systems, which makes nuclear submarines for the UK, said it was ready to support a new defence partnership between the United States, Australia and Britain called AUKUS. "As a company with a significant presence in all three markets we stand ready to support the AUKUS discussions as they progress," a spokeswoman for BAE Systems said in a statement on Thursday. Under the new AUKUS deal, Australia will build eight nuclear-powered submarines.
