This is where I got the B.S. from:
Firstly, the 0.764 is GBP, not USD. Secondly, there is no duch annozncement 3 days ago on the company website that I can find; finally, that's not what will be paid as its next dividend

The BS fron "simply wall steeet":

AstraZeneca (LON:AZN) Has Announced That It Will Be Increasing Its Dividend To $0.764

The board of AstraZeneca PLC (LON:AZN) has announced that it will be paying its dividend of $0.764 on the 12th of September, an increased payment from last year's comparable dividend. This takes the annual payment to 2.1% of the current stock

I believe some analysts have their math wrong on AZN dividend.
My understanding is that AZN pays out 2/3rds of the annual dividend in february and the remaining 1/3rd in september.
So if they have raised the september dividend to $0.764 I am taking that as an annual dividend of $2.292 which is 3.5%, not 2.1%.

I am surprised that we haven't seen a positive share price reaction to that news 3 days ago.

It seems also that Yahoo takes the sept dividend and only multiplies by 2 ( because dividend is payed biannually) instead of muliplying by 3 because the feb dividend is twice the sept dividend.

Can't find anything on company website about a dividend ibcrease announced 3 days ago. Seems like sone misinformation. Nasdaq lists the 2022 dividend as $1.98 and the yield as 2.98%. At leadt this is better than Yahoo's numbets

Ex div drop of $1 for a 46c dividend?
When the ex div drop is overdone, it's often a good buying opportunity

Over the last 5 years AZN stockprice increased from $30 to $66, averaging 17%/year compound. It's up from $60 to $66 or 10% year to date so is on track to do another 17% this year. That would make the year end price nominally $70.2 .
But a dividend increase could goose that up.

Buy sizes are bigger than sell sizes at this price so it seems people are loading up here and sellers could dry up and we'll be back above $66 shortly

Analysts estimate the newly proven drugs in the pipeline will raise AZNs bottom line by 17% over the next year making it a screaming buy here.
