In the fourth quarter, shipments of 5-nanometer accounted for 20% of total wafer revenue; 7-
nanometer and 16-nanometer accounted for 29% and 13% respectively. Advanced technologies,

CapEx (capital expenditure) has been doubled from 15 billion USD to 25-28 Billion USD for 2021, because on request of customers to fulfill their wavers they requested. They've said they will not announce if it is because of Intel, but they assured the capacity increase is not based on expected demand, but on request of the customer to fulfill their demands. Furthermore, they explained again it that the CapEx increase is not only because of complexity increase. So guys, if you want to earn money coming years, TSMC is not a bad investment. It might not be Tesla stock with their 1700 P/E ratio, but the doubling of CapEx means we're up for some big announcement or rapid growth of revenue and profits.
Listen to this call of TSMC
台灣積體電路製造股份有限公司-Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, Ltd.
The only 7nm maker is TSM. INTC, now with a new CEO, will be outsourcing fabrication to TSM and Samsung. Samsung yield is low, so TSM will be the ultimate winner. INTC won't be able to do 7nm and 5nm and no one can but TSM. This dip is definitely a buying opportunity.
Taiwan Semiconductor sales were boosted by high-end chips including strong demand for I-phones, 5G and Artificial Intelligence. I still cannot find anything on forward guidance.
Watch out for options expiration effect today
sony appl nvda amd intc need tsmc for their chips
Q4 estimates beat by 23%. EPS 0.97, YoY profit up 53% (amazing). Nothing on 2021 guidance yet.
This forum has mostly 5 posts per day. Suddenly over 70 posts today and more than 30 people viewing at the moment.... Welcome all new investors :-)
tomorrow morning TSM will report earnings, if dips i will add more, i was disappointed that i didnt switch my holdings to more TSM when it was at low $50s. i did add more when it was at $80s. my believe that this company should be good for future growth. it already said it has plan for factories in japan, India and Arizona. i know most should be in 2023. Just remember, AMD & nvda are TSM customers and now intel will be too. this should be good for long long term. more electric car will be built which will need more chips. even gas car need chips these days. at the end of the year we might be saying why didnt buy more in january!!!
Earning is the goal of any company.
TSM beats the estimate earning
TSM will jump today to $126 IMHO
Just talked to Taiwan buddy who works in TSMC fab. Said his stock will go up a lot tomorrow and told me to buckle up!
Why is anybody asking if they should sell? This is going to be a beast stock for a few years at least. If they can continue to be an industry leader at that point then this could be a decade plus beast stock. Set it and forget it.
TSM trading @ 103.98 euros ($125.84 US) @ 0937 Frankfurt time [0337 Eastern].
Remember TSM will have Huawei back soon. 25% of revenue increase at least.
Tomorrow if someone can't wait up until pre market, should see at the Taiwan market: 2330.TW
That can be informative. If numbers won't go good, don't panic, tsm is a good investment in long term too! Just have patience.
Operating revenues for Dec up 24.6% compared 2019 December
Closed trading around 130usd in Frankfurt, tmr open high ?
There is nothing to worry about. There was a market-wide sale due to the stimulus checks of $ 1400, the market was expecting a check for $ 2000 and although I understand the misunderstanding, I think they still do not understand the simple sum of $ 600 + $ 1400 = $ 2000
This company and its stocks are still quite promising and for now, this small setback is nothing more than a sour drink that we are going to pass.
I mean at 500billion market cap if you do 100% thats 1trillion market cap... They said they expect 5-10% growth in forseable future (21-22) ...so why the premium?
All of you long-term TSM longs who are selling here raise your hands & move to the left. Yeah, I am in the long line on the right with you.
