U.S.-based construction company Black and Veatch said it has been awarded a front-end engineering and design contract for Canada's Ksi Lisims floating LNG project in collaboration with Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) of South Korea. The Ksi Lisims LNG project is expected to start commercial operations in 2028 and designed to produce up to 12 million metric tons of LNG per year for export to overseas markets, Black and Veatch said in a statement Monday. The Canadian province of British Columbia in March this year toughened emissions standards for new liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects, which the Ksi Lisims LNG project will have to abide by.
