WorldPride in Toronto

WorldPride comes to Toronto for Pride Week 2014: Though the city hosts the Pride Toronto festival and parade annually, this year's event has some more international flavour as it's been designated an official WorldPride event by a global gay and lesbian group. The week of events included one of the largest-ever mass LGBT weddings, with over 200 couples tying the knot at historic Casa Loma, and a ceremony in which Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne, one of the first openly gay Canadian political leaders, raised the rainbow flag at Queen's Park, site of the Ontario Legislature. The week culminates in an extra-special edition of the annual (and dazzling) Pride Parade on Sunday.
