They’re asking what??: $599,999 Toronto house is a Pepto-Bismol pink fiasco

The Toronto real estate market saw eight per cent more new listings last month than a year earlier, according to the Toronto Real Estate Board. It stands to reason that they aren’t all going to be gems.

Take 808 Runnymede Rd., for example. Located near the upcoming Junction neighbourhood, this semi-detached two-story has potential. But its condition today is a bit odd.

The lead photo on the listing shows a small outdated bathroom with mismatched tiles. I count four varieties. The backyard is enclosed with an industrial steel fence. That’s where you start to see the touches of bright pink that carry into the interior.

An entirely Pepto-Bismol pink room leads into a wood-panelled kitchen that is very, very brown. It looks like someone used some spare Pepto paint on the chimney as well.

Oh yes, and according to Google Maps, there is construction chaos unfolding next door.
