They paid what??: $475,000 Toronto home has tracks running through the living room

Choice is limited for detached houses in Toronto listed at less than half the average market price. Securing a prime location at such a price often means accepting some quirks and renovating away others.

Such is the case with 48 Butterworth Ave., a brick and vinyl siding bungalow in the city’s far east end.

The front of the house is simple and tidy. The pink bathroom is probably not for everyone, and one wonders why the seller decided to include a dingy dish towel in the photo.

The living room is more perplexing. Greyish tracks on the pink carpet run through the space. What was dragged through here that left the large stain? Unclear. Fodder perhaps for the new owners after they choose new flooring.

The house sold for $475,000, $20,000 below the $495,000 asking price.
