They paid what?? Toronto Indian-Sri Lankan eatery house sells for $820K

Zero bedrooms, one urinal, and one industrial range hood. Sound like home? It could have been yours for $820,000.

This listing for 307 Wellesley St. E is the Choose Your Own Adventure novel of the Toronto housing market. The awning out front says “Rashnaa South Indian & Sri Lankan Cuisine,” but the ad suggests converting it back to a house, or a doctor’s office, or a law practice, or whatever you please.

It has a gutted kitchen, three bathrooms (no visible tubs or showers), and an open sign to let the neighbourhood know that you’re, well, open.

The restaurant had delicious “devil chicken,” according to an online review. But a 3.5-star Yelp rating didn’t stop the place for selling $19,900 below asking price.
