An individual will spend an average of 15 hours shopping this holiday season, according to Consumer Reports. Women plan to spend twice as long as their male counterparts, 20 hours versus 10 hours, respectively.

Shoppers expect to stand in store checkout lines for about three-and-a-half hours on average, according to Consumer Reports, with about 25 percent preparing for more than four hours of standing in line. At least most malls have convenient and comfortable places to take a nap while waiting around.

Those who wait until the 11th hour to buy Christmas gifts are not alone. According to a recent survey by Chase Blueprint, more than a third of Americans said they would do most of their 2013 holiday shopping at the last minute, with men being the main procrastinators at 44 percent, versus 27 percent of women.

It seems that wisdom really does come with age (when it comes to holiday shopping, at least). Forty-two percent of millennials admitted to being last-minute shoppers, says Chase Blueprint, compared with 33 percent of Generation Xers and 32 percent of baby boomers.

Men get bored pretty quickly when they’re with a significant other. It takes only 26 minutes on average for them to get fed up following around a wife or girlfriend, according to a Quidco.com survey, with more than 25 percent admitting to leaving them and going home alone.
