Keep on truckin’: Top 12 longest lasting vehicles

Toyota announced on Wednesday its plans to strip down and study a 2007 Toyota Tundra, which had clocked in a remarkable one million miles on its odometer.

With that in mind, here’s a look at the top vehicles that reached more than 200,000 miles, according to a 2016 study by ISeeCars.com that looked at sample of 12 millions vehicles on U.S. roads with model years from 1981 to 2015.

The list is loaded with heavy-duty pick-up trucks because they are primarily used as work vehicles, and typically rack up more mileage. On average, trucks clock in 33 per cent more miles than other vehicles. ISeeCars.com said pick-up truck owners are also more likely to pay closer attention to their vehicles maintenance since their livelihood depends on keeping them in good condition.
