Countries that still require Canadian travellers to get visas

Brazil has announced it’s considering waiving visa requirements for visitors from certain countries, including the United States, Japan, Australia and Canada, in an effort to boost tourism. The move would extend the 12-month trial period the government tested during the Olympic Games, which allowed for tourists to more freely enter the country, Reuters reports.

Brazil is just one of several countries that Canadians are still required to obtain a visa before travelling to. Click through to see which other countries still have the requirement — you might be surprised who is on the list. This is just a sampling: always check what the entry requirements are before booking travel to a country.
