Comedian Bob Newhart sells Bel Air mansion for US$14.5M

Comedian and actor Bob Newhart has sold his 9,169 square-foot estate in Bel Air, Calif., for $14,500,000.

The French county-style mansion, which was built in 1941, rests on a 1.37-acre lot, and features five bedrooms and seven bathrooms.

Newhart is perhaps best known for TV sitcoms "The Bob Newhart Show" and "Newhart." He has also received critical acclaim and an Emmy for his guest apperances on the "The Big Bang Theory."
