Calgary oil tycoon selling mansion for $9.9M
Clay Riddell is a long-time resident of Calgary, Alta.’s Foothills district, and is putting his home on the market for $9.9 million.
The former Paramount Resources CEO and current part-owner of the Calgary Flames, is said to be worth $1.25 billion, so it isn’t money that’s causing him to part with the home, which was built on land he purchased for $136,000 in 1976.
“He's at the stage of his life where his kids are grown, he's 80-plus years old and he finds the drive a bit long,” Shawn Hansen of Hansen Land Brokers told the National Post. “He's finding it more convenient to be in the city.”
