The 20 best countries in the world for tourists

The World Economic Forum has released the latest version of its Travel & Tourism Competitiveness Index (TTCI). The ranking essentially lists nations based on how accommodating and welcoming they are for foreign visitors.

According to the report, the list is based on 14 pillars, divided up into four groups. Enabling Environment takes into account the business environment, safety and security, health and hygiene, human resources and labour market, and ICT (information and communication technology readiness. Travel & Tourism Policy and Enabling Conditions includes prioritization of travel and tourism, international openness, price competitiveness, and environmental sustainability. Infrastructure judges destinations based on air transport infrastructure, ground and port infrastructure, and tourist service infrastructure. Natural and Cultural Resources analyzes natural resources, and cultural resources and business travel for a region.
