New money: 15 newcomers to the top 100 highest-paid celebrity list

Toronto R&B singer The Weeknd had a big year: his record "Beauty Behind the Madness" was the No. 5 best-selling album of 2015 in the U.S. and included two No.1 hits, he received an Oscar nomination, two Grammys and eight Billboard Music Awards.

In total, he racked up US$55 million in earnings over 12 months. The 25-year-old's wildly succesful year earned him the top sport on Forbes' Celebrity 100 Newcomers of 2016 list.
