The 10 hungriest countries in the world

The Global Hunger Index report, released by the International Food Policy Research Institute, reveals that about 795 million people go to bed hungry every night worldwide despite the fact that hunger levels in the developing nations have reduced up to 29 percent since 2000.

Countries like the Central African Republic, Chad and Zambia have ‘alarming’ hunger levels, while India, Pakistan, Haiti, Yemen, and Afghanistan have ‘moderate’ to ‘alarming’ hunger levels. The 2016 report ranked 118 developing countries and the scoring is based on 4 factors – undernourishment, child mortality, child wasting (low weight for height) and child stunting (low height for age).

Let’s take a look at the 10 countries who top global hunger index.
