Yahoo Director John Hayes to Step Down; MannKind Corp.’s Afrezza Device Raises Concerns with the FDA

YHOO shares modestly closed in the green this past Friday up almost 1%. The stock traded nearly 18.3 million shares and was one of the most active stocks on the NASDAQ. The company’s ddirector John Hayes, who is also the chief marketing officer at American Express Co. will be stepping down. “I have made the difficult decision to not seek re-election to the Yahoo Board,” Hayes said in the statement. “I have tremendous confidence in the continued progress and success of Yahoo.”

Shares of GameStop Corp. closed up 8.81% this past Friday with over 7.3 million shares traded. The stock was one of the biggest gainers on the NYSE and one of the most active. Despite reporting results and issuing full-year guidance for 2014 that were below analysts' expectations, Sterne Agee said the company's outlook is positive because of strong sales of new video game consoles. The firm believes GameStop's earnings per share could reach $4 in 2014.

Shares of MNKD closed down 7.12% on about 26 million shares traded this past Friday. The stock was one of the biggest losers on the NASDAQ. The drop came after a report from an FDA staff raised some questions about the company’s diabetes device Afrezza. The FDA committee said it was concerned about certain pharmacology issues that could impact Afrezza’s safety and effectiveness.

Shares of MYSK closed up nearly 43% this past Friday making it one of the biggest gainers in the OTCBB marketplace. The stock hit a high of $10.000 in intra-day trading. On March 26, 2014, MySkin, Inc. entered into a License Agreement with Earnest Blackmon, Tony Verzura and Chad Ruby pursuant to which Blackmon, Verzura and Ruby licensed certain intellectual property to the Company in exchange for a total of 38,690,000 shares of the Company's common stock.
