Where do you go now that Miami Art Week is over? Try these photo-friendly spots
Miami Art Week is over — and not a moment too soon. We can only sit in traffic for so many hours before we curl into a fetal position, shaking and moaning and vowing to never leave our homes again, even if they are underwater..
Yet the desire to get out and see something cool has been ignited.
Don’t fret. There’s plenty of art left to see at museums in and around Miami, and you can do it without spending half the day in your car (we think).
There are also a number of photo-friendly installations up through the end of the year (and beyond) for your Instagramming pleasure.
Here are a few of them.
Española Way installations
Two free installations hang over the charming Mediterranean street: Carlos Betancourt’s “Milagros!” and “Little Cloud Sky” from the duo FriendsWithYou.
Up through Jan. 9; Española Way, Miami Beach
Pinecrest Gardens
The installation “Bruce Munro: Forest and Field of Light” takes over Pinecrest Gardens with more than 6,000 fiber-optic illuminated, stemmed glass spheres across almost two acres. This is a good place for selfies if you look better in the dark.
Through March 21, 2022; 11000 Red Road; $20 adult, $15 child; pinecrestgardens.org
Chanel Maze
In celebration of the 100th birthday of its fragrance Chanel No. 5, Chanel built a pop-up full-sized maze in a pop-up forest called “Five Echoes,” designed by Es Devlin. Free but you can reserve tickets in advance.
Through Dec. 21; Design District Jungle Plaza, 3801 NE First Ave., Miami; chanel.com/us/fiveechoes/
NightGarden at Fairchild Tropical Garden
It’s not exactly an art exhibit, but the garden lights up for the annual holiday light show with more than 100,000 lights and interactive exhibits. Be sure to get some video of you spinning in the snowfall with a tropical background.
Through Jan. 2 at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, 10901 Old Cutler Road, Coral Gables; kids under 5 free; tickets for 10 and under start at $24; $29 for adults; ; fairchildgarden.org

“Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience”

Santa’s Enchanted Forest
It’s not art, you say? Well, we disagree. Have you not seen those dioramas? From the moment you walk onto the magical space that is this holiday-themed amusement park, which reopened at Hialeah Park this year, opportunities for photos abound. Also, we are pretty sure you can’t get fried cheesecake at Superblue.
Through Jan. 2; Hialeah Park, 3100 East Fourth Ave.; Tickets start at $28.04 for kids, $37.38 for adults; express passes available; www.santasenchantedforest.com
