Weibo beats on earnings, AT&T paid Michael Cohen’s firm, Disney optimistic on Fox deal

Here’s a look at some of the companies the Yahoo Finance team will be watching for you.

Weibo (WB) tops our list. The Chinese social network beat on earnings and revenue for its first quarter. Weibo’s CEO credited part of the boost to increased spending on mobile and video.

AT&T (T) confirms it made payments to a consulting firm led by President Trump’s lawyer Michael Cohen. AT&T says it hired the firm in 2017 to quote ”provide insights” into the Trump administration. Meantime, the lawyer for Stormy Daniels says — records show Cohen’s firm received $500,000 from a Russian oligarch.

Disney’s (DIS) Bob Iger appears unfazed by Comcast’s (CMCSA) advances for Fox (FOX) assets. After posting strong earnings Tuesday, Iger told investors during a conference call that he was quote “confident” the Fox assets would fit well in the Disney family. 21st Century Fox reports its earnings after today’s closing bell.

And Office Depot (ODP) is meeting earning estimates and beating on revenue for its first quarter. The office supply company is reporting positive sales growth in its Business Solutions Division for the first time since 2012. It also raised its outlook for the year.
