Walmart and wages
Walmart (WMT) reported earnings of $1.08 a share, missing estimates by four cents, while revenue of $120.2 billion beat Wall Street's estimates. The earnings miss is being blamed, at least in part, on the company's increase in worker pay as well as a reinvestment in the stores themselves.

United States Grocery Service?
The United States Postal service reported a loss of $5.5 billion last year and Postmaster General Megan Brennan is looking for new ways to complete in a crowded space. One of them is same-day delivery. Here in New York City, postal workers have taken to delivering seafood to restaurants and bottled water to stores in just a matter of hours. Can it work elsewhere and save mail delivery?

Part-time preference
Over six million Americans are choosing to work part-time, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Many of them are college educated Americans who are working just enough to pay the bills and are pursuing a passion or a startup on the side.

It's lunch time. How much was your meal really worth? Well one restaurant will let you decide. Blu in Montclair, New Jersey has adopted a "pay what you want" model for the month of August. The restaurant's owner decided to run the experiment as a way to thank the community.
