Wall Street Fundamentals Releases New In-Depth Stock Reports on CAT, EOG, LLY and MRK

U.S. markets closed higher Friday as gains in the energy and consumer sectors more than offset the losses in the health-care and technology sectors. The Dow Jones gained 0.36 percent while the S&P 500 Index gained 0.46 percent, up 0.50 percent year-to-date. "The broader thing still seems to be the sector rotation going out of growth [stocks] and into value [stocks]," said Sahak Manuelian, a managing director with Wedbush Securities. Here is how some of 2014’s best performing companies in the S&P 500 Index reacted Friday:

Caterpillar Inc. (NYSE:CAT - News) shares traded in the range of $98.78 to $99.62 Friday before settling to close at $99.39, an increase of 0.95 percent. The stock appears to be facing some resistance at $99.98 with some support at $96.99 and $95.27 levels. Shares of Caterpillar have gained approximately 9.5 percent year-to-date.

EOG Resources Inc. (NYSE:EOG - News) shares traded in the range of $194.11 to $198.82 Friday before settling to close at $197.16, an increase of 1.91 percent. The stock appears to be facing some resistance at $203.14 with some support at the $190.77 and $186.58 levels. Shares of EOG Resources have gained approximately 17.5 percent year-to-date.

Eli Lilly and Co. (NYSE:LLY - News) shares traded in the range of $57.40 to $58.47 Friday before settling to close at $57.61, an increase of 0.14 percent. The stock appears to be facing some resistance at the $57.82 and $58.73 levels with some support at $56.47 and $55.62. Shares of Eli Lilly have gained approximately 13.0 percent year-to-date.

Merck & Co., Inc. (NYSE:MRK - News) shares traded in the range of $55.77 to $56.96 Friday before settling to close at $55.98, an increase of 0.45 percent. The stock appears to be facing some resistance at the $57.47 and $58.62 levels with some support at $55.37 and $53.12. Shares of Merck have gained approximately 12.0 percent year-to-date.
