U.S. markets eked out small gains Thursday, stopping a two day slide for the S&P 500 Index. Strong earnings from Facebook helped drive the Nasdaq Composite Index up 25.59 points, or 0.71 percent, while the S&P 500 Index gained 0.26 percent. According to data from Bloomberg roughly 74 percent of the 237 companies in the S&P 500 Index that have reported quarterly results so far have exceeded analysts’ estimates on profits and 56 percent have topped sales expectations.

Boston Scientific Corporation (NYSE:BSX - News) shares traded in the range of $10.40 to $11.11 Thursday before settling to close at $10.83, an increase of 12.70 percent. The stock appears to have some support at the $10.40, $10.07 and $9.78 levels. Shares of Boston Scientific have gained nearly 90.0 percent year-to-date.

International Paper Company (NYSE:IP - News) shares traded in the range of $46.76 to $50.33 Thursday before settling to close at $50.19, an increase of 6.31 percent.
