VW Brings Sporty MOMO Edition Jetta GLI to Chicago Auto Show
Volkswagen reintroduced its sporty MOMO Edition of the Jetta GLI compact car at the Chicago Auto Show this week after an initial reveal at the 2015 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. Built on the Jetta GLI platform, this MOMO Edition features special tuning and what VW describes as Italian flair with red exterior and yellow accents from MOMO, a motorsport and aftermarket company based in Milan, Italy.
The MOMO Edition modified sport sedan is practically custom and is outfitted with 19-in. special aluminum alloy split 10-spoke wheels with Pirelli P Zero high-performance tires. The car is powered by a 2.0-liter, turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that generates 210 horsepower. The Jetta GLI MOMO Edition is equipped with H&R suspension components as well as front and rear sway bars. To give the car a throaty, sporty sound, special stainless steel cat-back exhausts are used, and 4-piston Brembo brakes are standard with striking yellow accents.
Interior elements include more advanced technology, featuring the MIB 2 infotainment system with full connectivity. A yellow color theme that is used in a strip on the car’s exterior is carried inside the cabin with a yellow trim strip and yellow stitching on seats and the shifter. A limited-edition steering wheel with a yellow stripe is another unique feature. The instrument cluster features a special driver-side vehicle information display in the side air vent with technical data such as turbo boost, exhaust gas, coolant temperatures, and throttle position in addition to outside temperature, speed, and a 0-60 mph timer that is nearly invisible when the car is not in operation.
The MOMO Edition Jetta GLI also includes accessories from VW including a roof rack, first aid kit, trunk liner, personalized floor mats, doorsill protectors, cargo net, and cargo grips.
