The sonic scrubber might look like a giant toothbrush, but don’t let that fool you.

In reality, this mega-viral gadget is actually one of the most beloved cleaning gadgets on the market.

Thanks to its ultra-fast rotating bristles, this thing scrubs tough surfaces automatically. It takes a ton of the work out of cleaning.

And it’s incredibly versatile. On YouTube and TikTok, users have sent the sonic scrubber after stovetops, sinks, counters, bathroom floors, tubs and more.

But can one, tiny spinning brush actually clean your whole home? To find out, we tested it out with an all-out clean-off. To see what happened, watch the clip above or keep reading below.

Is the sonic scrubber the ‘ultimate’ cleaning gadget?

To test this gadget, we pitted it against a standard cleaning wand in a full-on cleaning time trial. We had both tools clean three vastly different surfaces, then compared them on how well they performed.

When it came to speed, the sonic scrubber was way better. With its rotating bristles and a set of interchangeable heads, this thing tore through a sink, kitchen counter and stove in just two minutes and 45 seconds. Meanwhile, it took the standard brush more than three and a half minutes.

It also managed to do a better job in less time. The sonic scrubber is small and flexible. It can get under hard-to-reach surfaces — like the cracks in the kitchen tile we tested it on — and scrub away small, stubborn stains.

Overall, the sonic scrubber beat our “regular” method on every level. On top of that, it actually costs less than most of the electric toothbrushes it looks like.
