MARKHAM, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - May 3, 2016) - VIQ Solutions Inc. ("VIQ", "VIQ Solutions" or the "Corporation") (TSX VENTURE:VQS) is pleased to announce that the Scottish Court Service, an enterprise-level VIQ customer since 2013, is expanding their VIQ digital recording, management and collaboration solution to additional courtrooms across Scotland after a third-party technology review.
The independent review examined all technology in use at the courts across Scotland, including the VIQ platform, and was performed by AVMI, a global audio visual and managed services integrator. After stringent evaluation, including an examination of competitive solutions, VIQ was confirmed as the best provider for the secure digital capture and management of audio and evidence for the Scottish Court Service.
"After a detailed examination of the company and products offered, it is obviously the ideal blend of technology and expertise that will work well in our customer's environment," said Adrian Robertson, Scottish Director for AVMI. "AVMI looks forward to developing the digital audio recording estate in tandem with VIQ."
"We are proud that the Scottish Court Services decided to expand VIQ's long standing services to courtrooms across the country. This endorsement acknowledges VIQ's expertise in the secure management of enterprise digital evidence," said David Tilling, VIQ's Regional Sales Director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. "I look forward to confirming their confidence in VIQ by continuing to provide this important customer with the highest level of support as they continue to grow their sophisticated countrywide installation and provide efficient legal services to the people of Scotland."
VIQ's powerful database functionality enables the Courts to monitor and manage activity in all courthouses across the country, while maintaining the highest standards of cybersecurity and privacy. Scottish Court Service uses multiple regional servers to manage and facilitate workflow and one national server that functions as a secure countrywide central repository for all audio and associated evidence. The Scottish Courts are also using VIQ's NetScribe web-based transcription workflow to expedite their transcription process.
The expansion will bring the number of courtrooms operating the VIQ software to nearly 200, with the system securely managing the capture, routing and storage of tens of thousands of cases a year.
"The retention and expansion of important enterprise-level customers like the Scottish Court Service is integral to the accelerated growth of VIQ Solutions and I'm pleased that this key customer has chosen to expand their installation," said Sebastien Paré, President and CEO of VIQ Solutions. "In 2016, we plan new growth from existing customers through both site expansion like the Scottish Court Service and through adding sophisticated new features like video, mobility, web based collaboration, speech recognition, cloud services and more."
