An Upcoming Movie Is About To Reveal McDonald's Scandalous Past

From Delish

As if McDonald's didn't already have a big enough fan base, there's now its "founder," Ray Kroc is getting the biopic treatment. Played by Michael Keaton, Kroc is portrayed as a ruthless business man who first discovered the fast-food restaurant while humbly selling milkshake machines. That is, until he decides to virtually steal it from its original owners.

Who knew there was so much drama behind the makings of McDonald's? Seriously, Keaton's character stumbles on this little Minnesota restaurant, realizes that it is revolutionary because it serves burgers "in 30 seconds not 30 minutes," then wants in with the top brass. He instantly sees an opportunity and pitches the brother-owners (one of which is played by Nick Offerman) to start franchising, going so far as to call McDonald's "the new American church."

When they refuse, Keaton totally poaches it from Offerman-who, warning is absolutely necessary here, is completely without facial hair and it's quite alarming. And that basically sets fire to the rest of the trailer. Keaton is out for blood and he'll stop at nothing.

Of course, this has to make us chuckle a little bit. It seems the movie makers are trying desperately to make this look like Mad Men for McDonald's-complete with '50s flair, dramatic pauses, and a bunch of businessmen maneuvering deals behind each other's backs. But we all know that's never going to happen. There can only be one Don Draper.
