Turn Signals Force BMW R nineT Recall

Turn Signals Force BMW R nine T Recall

BMW of North America is recalling a number of 2014-15 R nineT bikes for non-compliant rear turn signals.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the design of the rear turn signals may partially obscure the lights from being seen by the driver of a following vehicle.

The agency states that the obscurity may increase the risk of a crash.

BMW will notify owners, and dealers will replace the rear turn signals with ones that have longer arms, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin on October 21, 2016. Owners may contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7477.
