We have to admit, the spooky title certainly had our attention. “The ‘Witch House’ got its name decades ago, thanks to a witch weathervane that was placed at the peak of the turret,” says its current owner. “I wish I knew whether or not the weathervane is an original feature dating to 1927, but I can’t be certain. However, [the witch] has certainly been there for a long time, and like all the previous owners before us, we decided to keep the witch and honor a bit of local history. She’s popular in the immediate neighborhood and beyond,” says Pugh.
Indeed, the “witch house,” with its renowned weathervane, may be an eccentric oddity most of the time. But the home is about to have its starring role. “Halloween is a big night at the Witch House,” Pugh says. “Many children trick-or-treat here, and we’ve often been the subject of Halloween reporting and filming by local TV stations.”
In short, buy this house, and you’ll have the coolest trick-or-treat establishment on the block.
And aside from the witch watching over it, there are other fantastical aspects to this house. There’s a large turreted rotunda, and a heavy arched door that make it look like something out of a Grimm fairy tale. Hansel and Gretel could perhaps be tempted to move in.

Inside, a wrought-iron staircase leads to the second floor. And a round bathroom was built inside the rotunda.

The spacious living room is Pugh’s favorite spot in the house, “with its big fireplace and abundance of natural light. It’s a beautiful space to relax, watch TV, read, and write,” she says.
The desirable location “is very walking friendly. It’s a good central location,” Patel says.
