TransAlta: Q4 Earnings Snapshot

CALGARY, Alberta (AP) _ TransAlta Corp. (TAC) on Wednesday reported a fourth-quarter loss of $113.6 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.

On a per-share basis, the Calgary, Alberta-based company said it had a loss of 47 cents. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 17 cents per share.

The power generation and marketing company posted revenue of $417.5 million in the period.

For the year, the company reported a loss of $214.3 million, or 91 cents per share, swinging to a loss in the period. Revenue was reported as $1.57 billion.

TransAlta shares have risen 18% since the beginning of the year. The stock has climbed 14% in the last 12 months.
