Trading like a Wall Street pro is getting easier….

Do you have what it takes to trade global financial markets like the pros? You can test out your skills thanks to a new mobile social networking app, invstr. The concept was developed by former Deutsche Bank trader Kerim Derhalli who wants to unlock the secrets of global financial markts for the masses. Below is an excerpt of his interview with Yahoo Finance.

Democratizing Access to Financial Markets

“Up until now its been really quite hard to get access to the kind of information that professional investors have access to,” according to Derhalli who aims to change that. “What we want to do at invstr is to democratize access to that information.”

Leveling the Playing Field With the Pros

“Large banks are really focused on the large institutional clients, what we are trying to do at invstr is to open up the market to everyone in the world,” he said. That means giving investors access to all the information they need to manage their investments such as news, live data and research. Some of this information has typically been reserved for subscription services such as Bloomberg and Reuters.

Derhalli explained how newbies can use his app. “We’ve developed a game where everyone can go and play the game and make predictions about the future direction of different asset prices,” this enables each player to see what everyone else is forecasting with respect to market prices.

The Wisdom of Crowds

Yahoo Finance asked Derhalli if there is really value in having free information that everyone else has, especially when it comes to investing? He believes in the “wisdom of crowds” based on scientific research. “When we act collaboratively and together we are actually pretty good at predicting what’s going to happen in the future.” he said.
