This odd-looking pillow is perfect for airplane naps

Let’s face it: there’s no graceful way to doze off on an airplane or public transit. Maybe your mouth hangs open when you sleep, maybe you’re a drooler, or maybe you’re that guy or girl snoring on the train in the quiet zone (yes, we all notice).

So instead of fighting the ugly truth of sleeping on public transportation, let’s embrace it and be comfortable while snoozing.

Studio Banana Things, inventors of the fascinatingly weird Ostrich Pillow, has launched the Ostrich Pillow Light, which is a more portable and slightly less strange-looking evolution of its original.

The pillow is smaller and lighter than the original Ostrich Pillow, and wraps all the way around your head, so no matter which way your head bobs, you’ll have a soft landing (and I’m sure the person sitting beside you on the train won’t mind the cushioning, either). It’s especially helpful on noisy, bright airplanes, as it also muffles some of the ambient noise and covers your eyes. You can also wear it as a neck pillow, if you’re not ready to embrace the fully padded face mask look.

The Ostrich Pillow Light retails for $60 on their website. The pillow was launched as part of a Kickstarter project.
